Make (almost)any facial cleanser an exfoliating cleanser.

Dispense cleanser into the palm of your hand and add about a half teaspoon of granulated sugar (the finest grain you can find.) Rub hands together and gently massage product over face and neck. Rinse and move on to the next step in your face care routine. Exfoliate about 3 times per week and don’t exfoliate when you have open pimples. If your cleanser  has salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, micro-beads or other exfoliators like alpha hydroxy acids, you shouldn’t add another.

Want your skin to have that summer glow all throughout the winter?

Keep moving! During winter months blood vessels constrict in order to help us conserve energy. This is great for us as humans but not so great for our skin. The harsh conditions outside and the dry air inside also  dries skin and makes it dull.  Working out for 30 or more minutes per day will open up blood vessels and increase blood flow to our skin, helping us to maintain a natural, healthy glow.

Got dry skin?

Try the two layer moisturizing technique. After shower, while skin is still damp, apply one layer of moisture (lotion or cream) all over your body. Wait a few minutes for the moisture to absorb then apply a second layer. If your skin is extremely dry, use a natural oil (such as jojoba oil) as your first layer. Follow up with a lotion or cream. This is especially beneficial before bedtime.
